Could somebody tell me what the difference is between a Newport putter and a Newport 009 putter? What does the 009 signify? Thanks!
“009″ comes from the zip code here in Carlsbad: 92009. Although the Newport and 009 are very similar in shape, you can generally tell them apart by the flat topline, wider profile at address, and the rolly-polly weight bumps/lugs. Also, I only make 009s from raw carbon steel or GSS (and then they’re typically called Cameron & Co.). Hope that helps!
All the best,
Scotty
