TCC | GAHW’09 | CK

June 22nd, 2009

If you’re reading the Blog, then chances are you’ve checked out The Cameron Collector (TCC). It’s the largest online gathering of Scotty Cameron enthusiasts in the world, and not only can they find lively conversation discussing nearly all things Cameron, but they are a collection of some of the greatest people around who go out of their way to help others.

Take for instance the Game-A-Hula Weekend (GAHW’09) that happened June 20-21. Guys and gals from all around the world got out for some golf, all while gaming a variety of our Hula Girl headcovers. (The Hula Girl headcover phenomenon is another example of you guys “getting” what I’m all about. Big Mahalos for that!) And it wasn’t all about golf; it was also about raising money for the Cameron Kids (CK <–my abbreviation =) program. TCC raised nearly $5,000!

Anyway, you can follow the links above for all the information. I just thought this was a very worthy cause, put together by some very enthusiastic and big-hearted folks. I hope everyone had a great time!

Click on the image below to see some of the Hula Girl headcovers put in play over the weekend, as well as a putter I gave the Hula treatment for the event, which goes to one lucky GAHW’09 drawing winner.

It was a great feeling knowing that there were a whole lot of Hula Girls on the courses this weekend around the world. It was a pleasure to participate. It has been fun spreading the Hula-mania to others.

This was a wonderful week-end event for TCC’ers all over the world. But more importantly, it was a wonderful way to help raise money for the Cameron Kids. Hats off to Brian L. for the time, energy, and contagious enthusiasm he spent on this project. I truly hope it will become an annual event!! And I understand special thanks should also go to Scotty and your staff for the amazing putter and headcover which were raffled off.

Mahalo,
Paige

Thanks for supporting the GAHW. It was an incredible benefit to the Cameron Kids fund.

I just found out that I was the lucky winner of the Grand Prize. I am still a little stunned and very humbled. I didn’t realize that my donation equated to an entry in any contest.

My dad served his career in the Army. As such, I was fortunate enough to graduate from Mililani High School on Oahu.

Thanks again for helping a great project.
