Battle for the Barrel
July 22nd, 2008
Just a quick update to let you know that I was fortunate enough to shoot 75-77-76 last weekend to successfully defend my club championship at The Bridges. It was a beautiful three days to be outside playing, but I can tell you I was grinding it out!
I won by one stroke with a new prototype mallet I’m working on. More on that putter soon. Just wanted to let you know that I’m playing as hard as I’m working! Thanks for stopping by the Blog.

anything else on this putter? When is it coming out?
I can’t release details just yet. Soon, though! Thanks for your interest.
Take care,
Scotty
Congrats Scotty … well done! In addition to the new prototype mallet you played what else was “In the Bag”?

I’m gaming a set of Titleist Z Blend Forged irons with a Titleist 907D2 driver, and a Titleist 906F4 3-metal. All Vokey wedges.

Congrats on defending the title Scotty!!! Keep up the awesome work on your putters.
Congrads Scotty on the win. How much putts for each of the 3 rounds?
I have a question about the Studio Select that I’m not sure where to ask so hope it’s ok here.
I couldn’t really understand the Swingweight description on your website. What are the swingweights of the standard Select (I’m interested in the Newport 2) options?
(340g/35″) = ?
(350g/34″) = ?
(360g/33″) = ?
And the heavier options:
(350g/35″) = ?
(360g/34″) = ?
I’m glad someone finally did the putters in different weights when using different lengths. I was wanting it many years ago.
Scotty,
Congratulations on defending the title. I like how they use a barrel for the trophy. Can’t wait to hear more about the mallet putter… maybe even at the upcoming ICC!
As always, thanks for sharing
Erik
Successful on and off the course, true champion.

It is the news that is good in the same way as your putter winning in a tour tournament.
I am interested about your words very much.
“New prototype mallet I ‘m working on. ”

Congratulations on defending club championship!!!
The defending champion played three days and won again by only one stroke.
Everyone can guess that a new prototype mallet putter has done very good works.
I am looking forward to see the new prototype mallet putter.
By the way, was that a mid putter?
