That is one great looking putter!
What a clean “wand”

Scotty,
In case there’s any doubt in your mind as to whether to bring that to retail, I’d just tell you that I’d buy one in a second. Heck, I’ll place an order right now if I could!
Patrick
Scotty
That is the putter I have dreamed about. With the shaft so close to the ball the feel must be incredible. That is a work of art. When will it be released? PLEASE look after us lefties here in Canada.
I too would place an order right now if i could.
WL
We don’t have a specific release date, but I’m shooting for later this year.
Take care,
Scotty
I agree, a lefthanded model would be great!

Scotty,
Since this is center shafted, is this putter going to be face balanced. I think that there is a large percentage of golfers who would love to own a Scotty Cameron putter but have not bought one because they have a pendulum swing a prefer a face balanced putter. I would personally love to see the mid-mallet type shape that Ryuji Imada won with at the AT&T Classic offered in a face balanced version.
Any chance of this or do you have any plans for a face balanced putters in the near future?
Thanks.
It’s technically not center-shafted, as the shaft is positioned just back from the putter’s center point. It has a bit of toe hang. I have some interesting things planned for the future, though…so stay tuned!
Take care,
Scotty
Scotty,
Am presently using the new mid-slant and it is great, but when tested with a laser I seem to aim better with a non-offset putter. I have used the red X but like this look better. Looks like you have solved my problem. Put me on the list.
BW
Scotty,
Great news to hear of the upcoming release. I can wait to “game” one!!
Dave
Please make sure to release this….and again, whoever is taking orders….put me down for one. Can’t get one quick enough.
DR
This is my dream putter! Now I’m using Scotty Cameron Center shafted Prototype. I wish shaft position would move back slightly due to my in-out-in putting arc. Now you read my mind! I can’t wait until I can buy this! Thank You!
Scotty,
Any thoughts of releasing the squareback Newport or the Newport 1.5 Squareback? I would buy it right now. Keep knocking ‘em in. Ed
I love the look of that putter, whoever called it a wand was spot on. I have had my Newport in my bag since 1995 & have never thought of swaping it……..until now. Keep up the great work
Cheers
Gerard
Hey Scotty
When do you think the release date might be as the golf season here in Canada is at the halfway point. I am dying for this putter.
Any hints on a time frame.
Thanks
Wade
Hey Scotty
Me again.
I know the 2.6 is in the line-up for next year as I have seen pictures of the complete Titleist line-up for 2009. Rumor is the 2.6 will be available Nov 08.
The big question is will the 2.6 be available in Left Hand? PLEASE SAY YES.
WL
Sorry to disappoint you, but it’s only available in right-handed for this upcoming release. Should be coming in September.
Scotty
Hi Scotty,
So what putter support better for a “straight back, straight through” swing, 2.6, 2.5 or 2.7?
Thanks,
Linh.
Scotty,
Got One! Wow what balance. I didn’t know what balance meant until I used this.
Thanks,
Dana
PS: wish you still had the Midsize orange grip.
I got myself this Newport 2.6 and was wondering if there was a use for the red dot on the heal of the head?
Is there a particular way in which one should line up the putts with this putter or is it business a usual?
Just curious to know if there was a different way to line up the putts with this club. I am still experimenting with it to get used to it.
AL
The red dot serves as a reference point for your setup at address. I designed it to show just a bit on either side of the shaft when you have the shaft angle at zero degrees. Or, if you have a forward press, you can use the red dot to give you a reference point as to how far you press. So, it’s really for setup and not for aiming, per se. Hope that clears it up.
Take care,
Scotty
Hi Scotty,
So what putter support better for a “straight back, straight through” stroke, 2.6, 2.5 or 2.7?
Greg
Studio Select Newport 2.7, as it’s nearly face-balanced.
All the best,
Scotty
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE 2.6 AND LOVE THE WIEGHT OF THE PUTTER AND THE FEEL, HOWEVER, ISNT THERE A WAY TO ADJUST THE WEIGHTS TO MAKE IT MORE FACE BALANCED? MAYBE I AM MISSING SOMETHING BUT IT WOULD SEEM BY USING MAYBE MORE IN THE HEEL AND LESS IN THE TOE AREA YOU COULD CREATE A MORE FACE BALANCED PUTTER.
Hi Scotty,
Any update on releasing a left hand version of the Newport 2.6. I have always used a centre shafted putter and this one looks brilliant.
Daniel
hey scotty just was wondering if you are planning on relesing a true face balanced putter not just a “nearly face balanced” i know so many people, including myself would love to play a true face balanced scotty
Hi scotty
Just got my Newport 2.6, great looking putter, love it and thanks
Scotty,
