Hello Scotty-san,
Thank you for slideshow update.
I enjoyed slideshow heartily.
I am worried about a Fastback with a double-bend shaft and Squareback with a double-bend shaft very much.
Is the recent tour putter shaft stepless only?
Regards,
TOMOHIRO
Yes, sir. Stepless. I’m really liking the smooth look of stepless shafts right now.
Best,
Scotty
scotty:
the double bend fastback and squareback look pretty sweet, especially the ones that you have put sole weights on.
looks like your newest designs are a big hit on Tour.
keeping you busy at the Studio , I’m sure.
is that Newport 2 SSS, one of DL 3’s putters?? Looks like “trey” on the toe gave it away..unless I’m reading that wrong…lol
any hints on what is meant by the Classic 2 being available?????
Auction at Cameron Club for membvers only?? jat
All the best,
Eddie
Hey Eddie,
It’s actually another guy’s putter. Think “v” instead of “y” at the end of that stamp. Regarding the Classic II, well…I heard that the guy who owns it may want to part with it…that’s all. No secret auction, I’m afraid.
Take care,
Scotty
Will there be any fastback putters on sale this year in golf shops?
Not as production models, Tony. These are For Tour Use Only at the moment.
Scotty
Just wondering what the mid-slant neck offers as opposed to the regular plumbers neck with the new Studio Select putters? Is it purely visual as you look down on it or does it create a different toe hang? Thanks
Aaron,
Good question. Both neck configurations have a full shaft of offset, each has 1/4 toe hang, and you’re absolutely correct…it’s a visual preference. The plumbing neck’s socket is in view on that setup, and the mid slant neck just smoothes it out as you look down on the ball. The choice is up to you.
Scotty
I’m reading this question about the differences between the mid-slant neck versus the plumber’s neck. Are the lengths of the necks very different?
It appears that the neck of the mid-slant neck of the new studio select seems to be a bit shorter than the longer necks of the mid-slants from the pro platinum of 1999. Am I right?
I am going to purchase my first Cameron Studio Select when I decide which model to buy.
Thanks.
Scotty
I just added a Studio Select Newport 2 to my bag. This is the 6th Cameron putter I have bought starting with a TEi3.
Is it possible to have a putter stamped at the tour van during a stop? I live in Hilton Head and attend the heritage every year.
Will the Skull and Crossbones stamp be available to the public?
Love the Studio Select. It is awesome.
Wally
Our tour van services only touring professionals. We won’t be able to stamp your putter there. However, you can always send it to the Custom Shop. And, for the time being, there are no plans to make a Skull and Crossbones stamp available to the public, but I won’t say we will stick to that plan forever. You never know.
Take care,
Scotty
Scotty,
I am about to pull the trigger on a newport or newport 2. I really like the alignment line on top and two on the flange that I have had on some past putters. Can the custom shop do this? Also where all can you stamp initials on the newports? Thanks.
Jeff
We can add those sight lines on either putter in the Custom Shop. Keep in mind that the Newport comes without any lines, so you are starting with a bit of a blank slate there. The NP2 has a single line in the flange already. We cannot remove that one, only add one on either side, or on the topline. We will have new Custom Shop stamping options available soon. Hopefully this week.
Thanks,
Scotty
Cool! Is it possible to get the $ stamp and initials on the putter?
Most definitely.
