West Coast Swingin’

January 31st, 2008

The West Coast Swing has swung over to the desert this week and our putter reps are on the scene getting the best in the world geared up for this week’s event, which is already underway. I’m very excited with the response I’m getting from the new Studio Select putters on Tour, and I look forward to seeing more wins.

I’ve created a centershaft prototype that you can take a look at here in the slideshow. I’ve also included some shots from the practice green over at the FBR. Thanks for checking in and I hope you like what you see.

Scotty,

Thanks for sharing the new heads, They’re AWESOME! As a centershaft fan, I wouldn’t mind having one of those in my bag. Also, any chance that configuration could become an OTRin the future?? Finally, it was great meeting you in Orlando and thanks again for sharing a few minutes and answering my questions.

Here’s to a Great ‘08 season on Tour!!

Cheers, Scotty.

Just a gorgeous centershafted Tour Studio Select. Love the bead weld on that beauty.

I just love your centershafted putters, as you may have guessed by now…:)

In case that you need someone to test one of your Tour Studio Select centershafts with “site dot”, I will gladly volunteer my services up here in Northern California!!!

I’m anticipating and looking for some more wins this weekend from your putters.

All the best,

Eddie

Wow Scotty, very impressive on the build-up weld job to level up the top line!

..Also, I am very pleased with the looks of the new Studio Select HEAD COVER! Very sharp and a little different… awesome!

Can’t wait to hear a little insight into when the squareback will be offered to us non-tour fans!

Thanks for keeping us on edge! Hah-ha!

Scotty-san,

Thank you for blog update and slide show.
I enjoyed a slide show.
It is because it was very interested in the center shaft putter.

Scotty-san,
How many putters does it bring in to the tour venue?
Also, what model does it bring in?

Regards,

TOMOHIRO

Scotty wrote on February 1, 2008 at 12:14 pm

Tomohiro-san,

We bring in two large staff bags full of the newest product, mixed with older. Plus, we take orders from the pros for custom putters. The number of putters varies, but runs up to 50 or more with lots of different models on display.

This is a beautiful stick. Very clean and pleasing to the eye. Love the new studio select Scotty. Having a hard time getting any answers from Titleist rep herein Canada. Will the select be available lefty with a flare neck in the 350 gram 33 inch? If not will adding extra weight to my circa 62 become available through custom shop? Keep up the great work!

Scotty wrote on February 1, 2008 at 12:34 pm

No flare (Santa Fe) neck, but you can get a Studio Select Newport 2 (plumbing neck) lefty in your preferred length/weight combination. As for adding weight to any other models, we won’t be offering that in the Custom Shop. Great questions, and I wish we could offer everyone everything they would like, but it’s just not possible. Thanks for your understanding and support.

Perhaps a production model down the line. Not sure of longer lengths just yet, Pat.

Thanks for the pictures Scotty.

Is the Centershaft a 350g putter and what color did you chose for it?

I think the new Studio Selects will be sought after on Tour and will also be demanded from the amateur golfers . Different weight and grip options…. fantastic! I can’t wait for the release here in Europe.

Cheers,
Kris

I first looked at that center shaft putter and it looked like you must have welded it or had a whole new head milled just for center shafted putters. I thought that was silly that you would have a whole new head milled when there are proto’s yet, sure enough come to find out it is all welded up and looks so smooth. Scotty, you’ve hit a HUGE homerun with the Studio Select line! I love the Cherry Bombs and the high toe design. The silver headcover is a brave step away from the norm but I like it. Mid-March can’t get here soon enough! I want a 33″/350G in the Newport and Newport 2 now!

Sweet 1.5 Studio Select for Kenny G! Scotty, please please please introduce this option for lefties in the near (immediate future). We are beginning to suffer from putter envy and we have yet to take delivery of our Studio Select NPII’s!

That’s a pretty good slide show, it’s nice to see you in action!

I am a pretty big (and pretty new) fan. I started designing putters myself this year as a hobby and I always say I would love to be the next Scotty Cameron!

Keep it up!

scotty, absolutely beautiful looking putters, ihave beeen waiting for you to go back to a milled face with no insert. i was just wondering if the studio select newport 1.5 will be available in a 34”- 350 gram version.

Scotty wrote on February 27, 2008 at 7:34 pm

We will offer “Heavy” versions of 34″ and 35″ Studio Selects in pro shops, and will also offer the option of weight changing here at the Custom Shop.

I was wondering if on the upcoming studio putters if we (the public) will be able to buy extra weights to replace the existing weiths that come with the putters. I play a 35″ putter and i see they come with 10oz weights just wondering if we could buy weights seperately and switch them out for comfort. Looking forward to buy a Studio Select Newport and getting it stamped. Also wondering if I would be able to get the skull and cross bones and jeckel stamped if send to your custom shop. No matter the cost they would look awesome in red!

Moderator wrote on March 11, 2008 at 6:55 am

Weight change options for the Studio Select putters will be available through the Custom Shop but the weights will not be available for purchase through golf shops. As far as the Skull and Crossbones stamp, that one is still a Tour Only stamp, not available through the Custom Shop.
Thanks

Scotty wrote on March 14, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Putters are shipping now. They are already available in some shops, and should be arriving in all shops over the coming week.
Thanks,
