The Cameron Collector

November 27th, 2007

For those of you who don’t know, there’s a great group of guys (and gals!) out there chatting online 24/7 about all things Cameron. The site is called The Cameron Collector and is the perfect place to learn more about putters, headcovers, accessories, events and more. And, most importantly, it’s about the passion many of you have for collecting.

I just wanted to encourage you guys to head over there, take a look and make some new friends. The moderators put their heart and soul into the site, and I think you’ll find the community spirit is alive and well. So, go get involved and have fun.

Certainly I’m a big fan. And I enjoy learning the newest updates and such… but I can’t hang with the serious collectors. Is there room for chumps like me?
Thanks,
Jimmy

I agree with The Vog, Jimmy James you MUST have a look around the TCC site…. I considered myself in ‘the chump’ category, but have learnt so much from the many, many decent and genuine Scotty fans, collectors, knowledgable golf pros and fellow ‘former chumps’… I now consider an awful lot of the members of TCC as my friends. Dive in Jim, it is all good.

TCC, in a word, fantastic! I’ve learned so much, been able to meet some amazing collectors and have made some great friends. Everything Scotty says is true and there’s so much more!

I would like to encourage more people to join the TCC even if you are just inquiring about cameron putters. I joined in June and the members have been more then gracious with sharing great Scotty information. Although I am in my infant stages of collecting, the members have accepted me and have shown pictures of great putters. I now know what my goals are as a collecter.

Hey Jimmy James, the site is all about helping all collectors. Young and old. New people and experienced collectors. Stop by and say hello.

Hello Vog,
Pleasure to get a response from you!

I have signed up and have already posted some questions… and you are right, it seems to be a friendly environment.

PS.
I saw a tour Squareback with a welded Sante Fa neck for $2500. I would have happily paid that if I could have. So I guess I have collector instincts…. I would’ve gamed it for sure though!

Whether you have no Camerons looking for your first purchase or 200 Camerons, everyone is welcome. I’d encourage any and all who are interested in the Cameron brand to come join us for great discussion.

TCC provides a wealth of information to new collectors – and even experienced collectors can learn a thing or two there any given day!

In my experience, the TCC community encourages “newbies” to ask questions and even send PMs (personal messages) to anyone on the site to get information.

Thanks, Scotty, for pointing collectors to TCC! I hope to meet some new folks soon.

I have been involved with TCC since June and I have to say that I have learned a lot and have met great people. I would tell anyone that wants to learn about Scotty to take a trip down to TCC. The Moderators are great and always helpful. I haven’t met a more knowledgeable and friendly group of people. Thanks to Bill Vogeney and to Scotty Cameron for supporting and making the TCC what it is…The Place to Be!

Hello. Scotty-san,

Thank you for update of the blog.

I enjoy TCC.
I get a lot of information and watch the collection of member.

I am very glad that the friend of the Cameron collector was able to do it all over the world!

These are the important important property for me.

Please come in TCC.
It is a pleasant place.

Does Scotty-san visit TCC?

Are you busy with putter production (adjustment) to the tour player for the next year?

All the best,

TOMOHIRO

Great site, but for people just getting into collecting Camerons, is there a price guide or somewhere we can determine a fair price for a collectible Cameron?

The Vog wrote on December 4, 2007 at 7:30 pm

If you want an idea of what a putter might be worth, just post a question in The Cameron Collector. Just find the right category-Pre-Titleist, OTR (Off the Rack), Tour/Limited edition, or handmade/garage made.

Any number of members can give you a good idea of the value. Pictures help too. We like looking at pretty pictures :-)

The best thing about TCC is that you dont have to be a serious collector to enjoy it. When I joined a couple years ago I didnt know a thing about Cameron collecting. I knew if I wanted to know anything though I had to start somewhere and TCC was a great place for that. Today I know a fair amount about cameron putters and headcovers and can thank TCC for that.

TCC is a fun place to read and learn about Cameron items… you’ll always know whats new and when stuff is coming out… have the chance to make some great purchases from great people… and have all your questions, no matter how silly you think they are, answered by some knowledgable people… plus there is always the friendly debate whats hot and whats not… I compare it to a local bar, where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came…. (sometimes!)… ok I stole that from Cheers, but thats the type of atmosphere it is, we evenhave a Cliff Clavin, he goes by the name of HoHo!

=0)

welcome to the TCC!

What an awesome place to discuss the coolest putters on the planet! If you haven’t been there you are missing out!

I encourage anyone who collects Camerons or appreciates the craftsmanship of Camerons to join TCC. I’m very new to this part of the golf world, but I have respected and yearned Scotty’s putters since I became serious about golf twelve years ago.

The members and moderators at TCC treat everyone the same, from those who spend five figures on a putter to those making the plunge on a used stick. It truly is a great place to educate yourself and make new friends.

All the best.

Some general questions for anyone’s response:

. . . what will the 2008 Club Cameron Kit look like?
. . . what month will the OTR Studio Select hit stores?
. . . is Scotty on vacation?
. . . when will I get a Squareback in my bag!?
. . . will it have a Santa Fe neck?

Happy Holidays and God bless,
Jimmy James

I love TCC! I found it right before the International Collectors Convention. I have meet a lot of great people on the site. I have also more than tripled my Cameron knowledge because of the members on the site. It’s really a great place. I would reccomend the site to anyone looking for information on Cameron putters.

I have been a member of TCC for about a year now and I have found it to be a very positive experience. I don’t have the cash to throw around on alot of Tour Putters or handmades, but I love Cameron putters and to the people at TCC that is all that matters. I have learned that it is not the quantity of your collection it is the love of the pieces you have and to always be on the quest for that next elusive piece. I have learned a great deal from the members there and I hope to be able to one day put a face to the screennames of the people I have chatted with.

Scotty keep up the great work and to my fellow TCC members here’s looking to an even better ’08.

Best wishes and happy holidays to all.

Hello everyone, just wondering what the consensus is on the TERYLLIUM TEN putters. I was able to buy one of each. I am unsure about whether or not to leave them in plastic or put them on a rack.

I bought the two for my two boys … eventually. Anyway I was checking them out and they have sharpie written on the shaft (2.0, & 2.5) Is that normal?

Should I unwrap them and clean it off before I display them? I would appreciate some feedback, I never thought I would get into the collecting arena. Now I have to find a 2007 My Girl to complete the set. The only way I convinced my wife to let me buy these putters was if I could find one for each of my kids. Good luck huh? My 8 y/o daughter has the best swing too.

I have a Cameron Tei3 Longneck Newport that has a head cover stitched with Ronnie Lott on it and his #42, celebrity classic. Any know if this has any value more than just the club?
