Scotty Cameron International Collectors Convention
June 19th, 2007
After a few days working with players at the U.S. Open at Oakmont, I drove over to a very special event in Centerburg, Ohio–the Scotty Cameron International Collectors Convention. My long-time friends and Scotty Cameron authorized putter dealers, Jim and Kathy Butler (and their son, Jeff, and daughter, Kelly) , organized a gathering of folks I like to call with fondness “Cameron Crazies”. People traveled from as far away as Australia, the UK, and even one intrepid traveler, Kris, came by herself from Germany.
This group is serious about its putter collecting. You’ll find some with hundreds, yes hundreds, of rare putters. Others with just a few highly prized items. Everything from Tour to handmades to Garage & Graffitis to Limited Release OTRs. It doesn’t matter the size of the collection, the type, or value; it’s all about the passion. These guys and gals get what I’m trying to do with the Art of Putting and putter making, and I truly appreciate each and every one of them for making the event. And what an event it was.
We started with a meet-and-greet on Thursday afternoon that went into the evening hours. I had a chance to catch up with over 150 genuinely great people, swap stories, take pictures and, of course, check out putters. Lots of familiar faces, people who’ve been supporting my craft for years, as well as new people who just caught the collecting bug.
On Friday, Jim, Kathy, Jeff and Kelly hosted a golf tournament at their course, Table Rock Golf Club. Festivities continued into the evening with dinner and a charity putter auction for Fresh Start Surgical Gifts (www.freshstart.org). All in all it was a wonderful time spent with old and new friends brought together by our one, true passion: putters. I hope you enjoy the slideshow.

Fantastic job by Jason who worked endless hours taking pictures and videos! Thank you!
To Hank who graciously talked to all the Cameron fans out there, thank you!
Last but not least, Scotty, what more can be said about this man!? We’re not worthy!
The 2007 Scotty Cameron International Collectors Convention was a blast! Nikki and I had the time of our lives! Meeting Scotty and Hank was a big highlight for me. Scotty even took time to talk on the phone with my CPGA Teaching Pro Derek. The Butler family and Table Rock’s staff deserve high praise for putting on a first class event!
I can hardly wait until next year!!!

The convention looked amazing. I was wondering if it was open to the public or if you had to be invited to attend.
It was open to the public, but availability was limited to about 170 people. Registration filled up quickly months ago on a first-come, first-serve basis. Keep an eye on ScottyCameron.com and the Blog for future dates and sign-up opportunities.
I attended the Convention and it was a great trip. I would highly recommend next years event to other “Cameron Crazies” whether they have a room full of putters or just one favourite putter.
On the first day, Scotty was scheduled for a 2 hour autographing session. 2 hours? Try 6 hours!! Everyone in the room was really impressed by his stamina and interest in everyone in the line. Hopefully the RSI induced by all the signing didn’t affect his golf game too much next day.
The golf tournament at Table Rock was terrific. Jim Butler and his family put on a great show and their Cameron Room was awesome.
Thanks to Scotty, the Butlers, Bill Vogeney and everyone else involved in organising the event.
Fantastic photos!
Two great days, great people and a lot of fun! Thanks to Scotty, his Team & the Butler’s who made all this happen.
Hope to see you all again next year
Kris

Thank you Scotty, Jim B. and Staff of the Studio.

What an amazing two days. Hanging out with all the “Cameron Carzies” and I do mean Crazy!
It was awesome to see people from all over the globe. Wow! Thanks for all who traveled in.
A special thanks to Jason for all the pictures he took, Hank for his help and the Butler family for putting on a “world” class event.
Last but certainly not least, for Scotty who is a amazing individual. I have never met someone who after speaking to them for 10 minutes you feel as though you have known them for a lifetime. Thanks for bringing the “art” back to putting.

Ab-so-lutely an amazing time. The Art of Putting aside, Scotty is an amazing person. Simply a first class individual. It makes me proud to support a brand and the person behind it after being able to interact with Scotty in person. His dedication and love for what he does is unsurpassed, and besides making him a putting guru to the game’s top players, it makes him someone to look up to.
Thanks to Scotty and the Butler family for an awesome show!

The international convention at Tablerock was fantastic. Scotty truly gives his fans quality time. He is truly in a league of his own. I saw no individual turned away for anything. He sincerely cares about his loyal fans. Hank was also at the top of his game in giving any amount of time that was requested of him.
Jason did one fantastic job with pictures and whatever else was needed of him. The guys who work for Scotty demonstrate the same loyalty as do his fans. The Butlers at tablerock did an exemplary job in setting up this conference with 1st class service. It was great to see Rand Pallis and Dalton Daves there as well…..all for the same cause and support of Scotty Cameron and Titleist. It was very special to see Scotty’s favorite charity, Fresh Start, come out as winners too. There were some very generous individuals who help make these deserving young people winners…..including Mr. Scotty Cameron.
That is what it is all about,

Scotty,
It was great to finally meet you. I appreciate that you took the time to sign autographs (FOR 6 HOURS) and talk with each person that was in line. My poster is getting framed today and Masters Flag is going up in my office. I know you appreciate your fans but this only made me more aware of how happy your fans make you. Jason did a great job taking & posting pics and it was nice to meet him. It was also great to meet Hank from the Studio. The Butlers did an excellent job hosting the ICC. It was great to meet Dave and Rand from AOP and the friends I have made from collecting Camerons. I can not wait for next year!!!!

Not much more can be said that hasn’t been already.
Jason – thanks for being our ‘A’ player, not to mention the priceless memories
Hank – thanks for taking the time to visit and catch up; and always for your support
Scotty – You are the reason we are ‘Crazies!’, and for that we thank you.

Hi, Scotty
It was a pleasure meeting you in person at Tablerock. I could see that you put the “gold pen” to good use signing all of those autographs.
I was fortunate enough to be on the winning scramble team at the Collector’s Convention tournament. The trophy that you created is outstanding. It will be an honour to have our names engraved on it as the first winners. This was the first time during my golf career to have my name engraved on something significant. While you are tinkering around with the stainless steel pipes is therte any remote chance that you could come up with miniatures of the the trophy for the winning team? Now that would be a keepsake and great conversation piece.
Sincerely,
Koty from Canada
