My Daughter, Summer

June 12th, 2007

Summer and I play golf all the time. She’s developed quite a swing, and her game in general is coming around nicely. She recently composed a poem and an illustration about one of our recent rounds that her Mom and I thought we should share with you. Welcome to our virtual refrigerator door. We hope you enjoy.

That is awesome. I cannot wait for my kids to start playing. They are only 4,3, and 21 months, but my “little one” loves to swing his big plastic club.

Very talented. Are we going to see her on the LPGA or Oprah’s Book Club?

That is awesome. I have 3 kids, 4, 3 and 22 months. My little one always takes clubs out of my bag and always grabs my newport. A sign of things to come? Hopefully. Of the 3, he looks to be my golfer. He loves swinging his big red plastic driver. My best memories are with my Dad on the golf course and the sound of metal spikes on the pavment. I can’t wait to create some new ones!

Thanks for rubbing it in Scottty.

Summer is writing poetry about golf, and my three-year-old just snapped his club in half by swinging it against the washing machine. Since he also likes to play with my putter, this might be quite a money maker for the restoration department :) .

Keep it up Summer!

I see the artist gene runs in the family,as well as being capable of hitting one straight down the fairway!
Thanks to you and your wife for sharing this with us Scotty, and please convey to your daughter Summer, how wonderful her insight to a positive swing thought is! Amazing, it’s a good lesson for us all on the tee, to take in all of natures virtues before letting it fly!!

Hello Scotty-san!

Always thank you for pleasant blog.

The picture which a child draws is pure.

I can imagine the scene which Cameron family enjoys from a picture.

There are a lot of events this week.

Please be careful not to get out of shape.

Let’s meet with a cheerful figure each other in Hamamatsu.

Thank you !

Thank you for sharing.

I too, my best rounds were as kid just as the day turned to dusk. I remember the crickets just as Summer described.

This is why you do it. The look on their face(s) when you arrive home from a long day at work. The time that you spend with them & watching them grow up (way too fast). It’s just why we all do what we do to provide for our families. 11 years ago I was 27 years old & was dealt a tough blow – Cancer. After a few months of treatments & many surgeries, I was told there was a very remote chance that I would have children. 11 years later – 3 perfect children whom my life is dedicted to.

Your putters make people happy & I would guess that the putter itself is about 1% of the equation & the person receiving it is the other 99%. Thank you for for sharing the drawing. Thank you for having the insight to make a club for the person & not the bottom line. You have enriched many lives with your craftmanship & there appears to be no end in sight. You’ve earned it Mr.Cameron!

Kenneth
