Scotty’s Art

May 23rd, 2007

I’m really into art. Something about paintings has always fascinated me. Whether it’s something funky, realistic, abstract… it doesn’t really matter as long as it grabs me and gives me a special feeling. I’ve picked up various pieces over the years and have tried to give the Putter Studio a unique, artistic feel. And, it doesn’t really matter what you pay for a painting, it’s how it makes you feel when you look at it. As I walk through the Putter Studio every day, the art I have on the walls makes me happy. To me, coming to work and feeling good is perhaps the most important thing.

A few artists have sent in paintings with me as the subject. I always get a kick out of this. Here are a couple interesting ones. I hope you enjoy.

Love the artwork Scotty. Very unique, I just bought a new house, and any of those would look outstanding in my golf room.. Thanks for the new blog.

Besides the portraits what are some of the other interesting things people have made and sent into you?

Very cool Scotty. They all are pretty interesting. Any more comments on how Asian & surf culture have affected your inspiration.

Love the blog.

Hi, this is Mac.

Of course Cameron san is the super-putter-maker!!!

That appears to be a surfboard being used as a table, which is very cool and really unique!

I wanted to take this time to say that I’m glad you started this blog. I think it will only add to the many joys collectors and fans get from your website.

Thanks again
Erik

Thanks for sharing the art. It must be odd to see yourself in such a distorted way. Maybe as part of this blog you could show some of your classic golf clubs and your thoughts on them. By that I mean not your own Cameron putters, but classics made by other manufacturers that have inspired you.

So when we are going to see a Putter that will actually look like Scotty himself?

hahahahahaha

I am glade that now we have this blog where we can interact with lots of passionate admirers of Scotty Cameron work.

I think there should be a slogan for Scotty Cameron, some thing like Scotty Cameron Passion :o ) after all it is his passion that made us accept his greatness :o )

I’ve been taking some swing coaching from a guy named Saatzer, who told me a story about a young kid he saw making innovative clubs back in the east or mid west many many years ago. He was talking to the head designer who was experimenting with different materials (like Titanium and graphite epoxy) and saw this kid in the back of the shop. He then asked if I had heard of Scotty Cameron. I said yes – I own one of his putters. Well, you were that kid in the shop. Wish I could remember the other fellows name, but I’m sure he is not as famous as are you, but I.m also sure this story might bring you to remember your early beginnings.
Congratulations on your successes – and my thanks for making me a better putter!

All three paintings are very cool and capture you well, but I like the second one the best.

I generally don’t blog, but felt a need to comment. Thanks for sharing with your putter fans!

I’m sure several of you have vintage Scotty’s that you use on a regular basis. I had my 1997 Newport restored by the Custom Shop over the winter and they did a fabulous job. If you have been considering using this service I highly recommend it. You certainly don’t want anybody other than Scotty’s craftsmen working on your gamer. Mine turned out so well it belongs on my mantle!

Thanks for all you’ve done for me and all your other loyal followers, there’s simply no substitute.

Scotty,
Thanks for sharing an insight to what stirs your emotions.
My question to you, is, with all the artistic creativity you have expressed in your putters, headcovers, cash covers,apparel,etc..
Have you ever done more than doodling on your workshop benches? I’d be more than a little bit interested to see your sketch pads come to life in this Blog.

Just wondering if the top flat surface of the grip is supposed to be parallel with the sightlines and 90 degrees to the face when looking down from the end of the grip. Sometimes I could swear the grips are on crooked and the putter face is closed. Is that possible? My eyes sometimes play tricks on me and I never really know if what I see is really the way it is. I’ve got seventeen Scotty putters and love them all.
